Take some time to learn about how I practice content design, plus a few of my fun facts further down.
How I design
✦ My philosophy ✦

Tireless user advocacy
All of my designs begin with empathy and put the user first. Technical constraints are a distant concern – let’s discover the best possible experience, then push our tech to meet that bar.
Holistic outlook
My strategic thinking includes the entire user journey. What we’re designing doesn’t exist in isolation. The user’s perspective will be informed by their larger context, and so must our designs.
User-driven growth
I believe that engaging and helpful UX drives business growth. A simple, functional design that solves problems will keep users coming back for more. When you design for the user, you are designing for the business.
✦ My approach ✦

Ask questions
Every designer should start by questioning the status quo. Are we solving the right problem? Are we designing for the right user? What other assumptions are we making? These questions can help us push beyond the world we know and break new ground.
Find the why
I like to dig a little deeper to find out how opinions and decisions are formed – including my own. Lots of great designs begin with a hunch, but let’s look inward to articulate that hunch. Why do we feel this way? What knowledge and beliefs support this?
Set systems and standards
All this thinking and philosophy gets us no where if we can’t scale it! When I uncover a juicy nugget of insight, I look for ways to put it in writing and apply it more broadly. Whether that’s integrating it into the design system, or saving a template for future use.

A few fun facts
I love to learn

I’ve been so lucky to learn from multiple industries. I’ve always got an audiobook about a fascinating topic, like the life of Cleopatra or the morality of babies.
I wrote a book

Written, but still unpublished! If you happen to know any literary agents looking for a YA speculative dark comedy, feel free to give them my email (please!)
I like to bake

But I’m only really good at cookies. You don’t want to try my sugar cookies – you’ll never want to eat anything else, and they are NOT healthy.
Let’s chat
I’m always looking for opportunities to chat CD, especially with students. Reach me by email or connect with me on LinkedIn.
